The Ainsworth is O So Mega
![]()
Talk about a larger than life moniker, the new description for the Ainsworth Megagastropub,
makes me think it’s located in space.
I suppose that means it’s a giant venue, and it is pretty huge at 6000 square feet. So why not have
it be grand in food, style, ambiance? The Chelsea bar, located on 122 W. 26th Street, looks set to
accomplish this feat too.
There will be 40 or so flat panel TV’s so the sports-pub aspect is covered well, perfect with
football season heating up. Ample space and an open interior allow the venue to be used for
events and launches easily, which is exactly what the owners hope will happen.
Matt Shendell, owner of Dune and The Hill, is opening The Ainsworth. The elaborate restaurant,
sorry I mean megagastropub, is going to be a fusion of classic American fare with a mix of
spices from around the world. The menu includes pineapple ribs, grilled pork chops, miso duck
spring rolls, and wild mushroom pizza. Shendell said that along with the stellar fusion menu, the
Ainsworth will be, “…a first class bar and a visually stimulating décor culminating in the
ultimate drinking and dining experience.”The Ainsworth is having a soft opening on Wednesday, so if you want to see a main dining room
with wrought iron gates sectioning you off from “antiqued pine walls and aged mirrors” while
you sip your luxurious cocktails, go check it out. [UrbanDaddy]
